Indestructo Tank

Indestructo Tank

In case any of you need a break from whatever you are doing, here is the latest in "Q n' F" (Quick and Fun) game that will surely satisfy that sweet tooth for gaming.

Indestructo Tank, from Armor Games, is a ten minute game in which the player assumes the role of an indestructible tank. Being indestructible comes at a price: the only weapon on the tank IS the tank.

When helicopters, planes, mine cars, etc. come into view, it is your mission to use their bombs against them. When bombs hit the ground, drive over them at the right time and it will launch you in the air. While in the air, you will try to achieve the highest combo count possible by flying from one enemy aircraft to another. Each combo point earned results in a correlating experience point (XP) bonus. XP is the currency in which more enemies can be purchased to fly over head (increasing your chance of greater combos). Longer combos will reduce the amount of fuel you need to travel, thus gaining more XP.

The only downfall to this game is that once all the enemy aircraft has been purchased, the game will end with a final round. I would have preferred to experience the "maxed out" level a few more times before being cut off.

The music in the game is your standard minute-long loop of some techno. Nothing special, but not overly annoying, either.

Graphics in the game are a bit dated, but noticeable improvement was made in the sequel.

Tip: Pay attention to your mini-map for great combo chances.

When I was asked if I would be interested in writing a blog for the Levee, I was extremely excited. As mentioned previously, I love video games. As a boy, I was brought up on Phantasy Star and Pitfall. Games like Jill of the Jungle, Lemmings, and King's Quest ushered in my life-long amazement with all things "digital gaming."  As I suspect, just like me, many of you have your favorite video games that you grew up playing as a kid (or are playing now, as kids).

Please feel free to ask James any questions you have about what and why as far as gaming goes.  He is eager (and by eager I mean bursting at the seams) to share his wealth of knowledge.
